For years the Wynn Poker Room located in Las Vegas has been popular among locals as well as tourists. Now, in May, the 25-table poker room will expand and therefore move to a new location.

The poker room will reopen on the 26Th of May, at the new location, near the Encore Beach Club and Encore Players Club. Steven Wynn’s original property is the sister of the Encore hotel/casino and there is a walkway connecting the two facilities.

Currently, the Wynn Poker Room is situated near the recently closed Ferrari showroom and the Wynn sports book. The poker room is 3,360 square feet, rather large in size.

However, the current poker room size is nothing compared to the new one, which will cover approximately 8,600 square feet. There is not much information made public about the renovation yet, but the main reason to relocate the poker room is according to Wynn, to better serve all Encore and Wynn poker-playing guests.

New Features

Besides relocating and expanding, Wynn plans also adding new appealing features in the poker room.

Many of the 18 poker rooms located on the Las Vegas Strip are among the top poker rooms in the U.S. To compete with the most well-known poker rooms, such as Venetian, Aria and Bellagio and attract the plugged-in world, the new poker room will have USB ports at all poker tables and also 65-inch TVs.

Making USB plug-ins available at the tables is very convenient for players who want to surf the web, text, play video games or online poker or listen to music while at a live table. Other poker rooms, such as Aria, have USB ports available at each table for all players.

The New Wynn poker will also have a separate poker room for high-stakes games. At this time, only a few poker rooms such as Aria and Bellagio have such a separate room. At Bellagio the room is called “Bobby’s Room” named after Bobby Baldwin and at Aria it is called “Ivey’s Room” named after Phil Ivey, both poker legends.

Along with poker rooms such as Venetian, Bellagio and Aria, Wynn is an upscale casino. Players that choose those casinos are looking for a special experience. They desire more amenities than the average poker player. A service-oriented, comfortable atmosphere, nice televisions airing sporting events and fancy décor are important features at high-end properties.

On that matter, Wynn’s Director of Poker, Ryan Beauregard, said the following in a press release.

“The new room will incorporate carefully selected amenities specific to poker players that will set Wynn Las Vegas apart as a poker destination,”

2016 World Series of Poker Kick Off

The 2016 World Series of Poker kick off will be hold at Caesars Entertainment’s Rio Hotel and Casino, which is only a mile away from the Wynn Poker Room. Coincidence or not, the poker room will open less than a week prior to the event.

The WSOP period, is the most lucrative and busy period of the year in Las Vegas. All poker rooms get packed during this time, the most well-known poker rooms such as Bellagio and Venetian have even long wait lists.

This is the perfect timing for the new Wynn poker room to open its doors, by doing that the number of cash game seat ready to use this summer will increase.

The current Wynn poker room will stay open until the opening of the new one on May 26th.
