WSOP Ring

WSOP announced on Wednesday the 2017-2018 domestic circuit schedule for its 14th season, with three new venues and a record-topping 26 tour stops. The international side of the Circuit schedule will include a dozen-plus stops and is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Both are linked by a points system tied to the WSOP gold-bracelet awarding $1 million+ guaranteed Global Casino Championship.

The 2017-18 WSOP Circuit will commence on August 2, starting at Harrah’s Cherokee in western North Caronlina, and continues virtually non-stop until the final stop at Harrah’s New Orleans that begins May 10, 2018.

The newly added venues are: The Thunder Valley Casino in Northern California near the Sacramento area has two planned stops from September 14-25 2007, and again from January 11-22, 2018; The Seminole Hard rock in Hollywood, Florida has 1 stop scheduled from September 21 – October 2, 2017; and another at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek from February 8-19,2018.

Each stop includes a dozen series of tournaments leading up to a Main Event starting at the $365 buy-in level and the winner will be awarded with an official gold ring. Every stop will also include a $1,675 Main Event. The event schedules for each stop, once approved by their local regulatory body, will be released as the event draws closer.

There are several ways in which players can quality and gain free entry in to the 2017-2018 Global Casino Championship with a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000:

  1. Win a Circuit Main event at any domestic or international stop.
  2. Win a “Casino Championship”, which is defined as the player at each stop who accumulates the most points throughout the 12-event gold ring schedule at any domestic or international stops.
  3. Be one of the top 50 cumulative point earners over the entire season who hasn’t otherwise qualified (Domestic tour only).

Aside from these “free roll” seats, players can also qualify for the 2017-18 Global Casino Championship during the circuit season by winning any official “ring event”, or be among the top 100 ranked players from the previous year’s WSOP Player of the year. These players will be eligible to buy-in to the WSOP Global Casino Championship for $10,000. All additional buy-ins will be added (rake-free) to the $1,000,000 prize pool.

“We are very proud of what the WSOP Circuit has become and how it has performed for our partner casinos who have come aboard,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “Players know they get a consistent structure and schedule at each stop, plus the opportunity to win big prizes as well as their seat into the million-dollar freeroll with a WSOP gold bracelet up for grabs.”
