PokerStars’ first-ever PACOOP (Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker) poker tournament was expected to be a big event, but things are starting to get ridiculous. We’re only three days in, and the site is smashing its guarantees thanks to an impressive number of players registering for PACOOP events.

This is the first time that PokerStars has launched an online poker tournament in Pennsylvania. The site only went live at the start of November, and has quickly ensured that players across the state will be able to experience the same exciting poker events that international players can enjoy.  Over the course of the PACOOP, PokerStars guarantees that $1 million will be given away in prizes – but, it’s likely to be a lot more than that based on the how successful this weekend has been.

The first tournament was the $100 Warm-Up. It originally guaranteed $20,000 to its runners, but is now offering over double its guarantee. Thanks to over 540 players entering the event, there is now $50,000 up for grabs.

The second event was the $200 Turbo, which guaranteed $15,000. 90 players entered the event, which increased the prize pool to $21,000.

Then, there was the $100 Deepstack, which also featured a $15,000 guarantee. Thanks to its nearly 400 entries, the prize pool climbed all the way up to $35,000.

This is a fantastic achievement for PokerStars, after being active in Pennsylvania for just under a month. The site is seeing a huge number of players getting involved in playing poker online, and the market is only going to continue growing.

“The Championship of Online Poker, or COOP, is one of our most prestigious events and we’re proud to give Pennsylvania its own,” Matt Primeaux, president of FOX Bet, which owns PokerStars. “Players in PA have already shown their excitement for PokerStars so we took things to the next level with a $1 million series guarantee and plenty of ways to get in on the action.

On December 15, 2019, the Main Event of the PACOOP will take place. The event will have a $100,000 prize pool, but it’s very likely that it will be much larger, based on how things have been going so far.

If you want to take part in the event but don’t have $300 to spare, then there is a special Main Event Freeroll that you can take part in. If you make a $50 deposit on December 15th at 1:59pm, you’ll be able to take part in a free tournament where 25 main event tickets will be given away.
