In New Jersey, an online casino has been launched by a Pennsylvania casino operator. The status of internet gambling is currently only legal in Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey.
However, in the near future the legislation is expected to pass in the Keystone State. It’s unlikely at this point that the bill will pass in 2016 as many poker players hoped.
A prominent Philadelphia gambling establishment, SugarHouse Casino, has opened an online casino across the river in New Jersey, since online gambling isn’t legal at this time in Pennsylvania.
Numerous slot machines, table games, video bingo and video poker are offered by PlaySugerHouse.com to Garden State residents and visitors.
Under the internet gaming permit of Golden Nugget Atlantic City LLC., SugarHouse’s majority owner, Rush Street Interactive, has opened an office in New Jersey. The site’s customers will be served from this office.
The gamblers in New Jersey could even give their input on the gambling site. Although play must take place within New Jersey borders, players can make a deposit from any state. The app is available from Android devices and iOS.
Customer Base is Expanding

Poker Players Alliance’s Were Optimistic About Online Gambling Bill
The state Senate hasn’t give any support yet to the online gambling bill, HB 2150, that passed a House vote earlier this year. Around the poker community the optimism doesn’t appear to be very high as time is running out to get the bill passed this year. The bill might still be turned into legislation sometime in 2017.
Pennsylvania would become the fourth state to legalize online gambling. At least, that’s what many poker players and the Poker Player Alliance expected at the beginning of 2016. Although optimism is fading, there is still time to make it happen.
A shared online poker player pool has been offered by a rumored partnership with New Jersey. This is in case Pennsylvania would pass legislation. Since 2013, financial expectations in the Garden State have not been met by online poker.
In order to generate more revenue in New Jersey from the game, the legislation in Pennsylvania should pass first.
