After booking his biggest bracelet bet of his career before the WSOP, Jason Mercier got delivered big time this evening.

It was one of Mercier’s biggest scores of his life as he told the media after winning the $10k 2-7 Draw event alongside some impressive side action. The first- place prize only deliverd him $273.335.

As he come off the stage he chanted: ‘One down, two to go’, as he is not planning to stop here.

‘I have some best on winning two bracelets where I got laid like 18,19 to one for the summer so that one’s pretty live.’

‘I also have a huge bet against Vanessa Selbst to win three so if I can go ahead and win another one quick, it’ll be a really sick sweat’.

With one bracelet in the bag and an impressive wager of $10,000 at 180 to 1 against Team PokerStars Pro Selbst, this summer Mercier might reach up to a total of three bracelets.

After giving his press talk he went immediately on to registering for the $10,000 Razz event that was planned for the same evening.

He called winning a bracelet early in the WSOP an amazing step forward.

‘Now I’m kind of freerolling the next year so. I am just looking forward to playing as many events as I can and giving myself a chance to win two more.’

Denied a WSOP bracelet again- Mike ‘Sirwatts’ Watson

With earnings over $9 million playing live poker tournaments, the Canadian Poker pro Mike Watson is probably one of the best poker players ever without a WSOP bracelet.

This is his first time in WSOP bracelet events that end at the runner-up position.

His heads-up opponent Mercier had the following to say:

‘Mike’s such an experienced player. He’s a very, very good player and tournament player altogether.’

His experience in playing the No-Limit 2-7 Draw probably gave him that edge over the Canadian as he said he doesn’t think being a bracelet winner did the trick.

‘This game plays so well as a tournament. It’s just such a pure form of tournament poker and I’d like to see more people get into it and learn it’.

Next year Mercier hopes that the WSOP will offer a mixed No-Limit Deuce and No-Limit Hold’em event as No-Limit 2-7 Draw is known as an action game.

His totaal career earnings has reached up to $16.7 million after winning tonight. Mercier is again a happy man.
