By signing of influential female pro Jackie Glazier, Partypoker has added some more firepower to its pro roster.
In recent months many non-poker players hit the headlines with making sponsorship deals. To boost their live presence, PartyPoker has now drafted the services of Glazier.
Among online poker operators the predominant theme throughout 2015 and 2016 has been:
“attract casual players with familiar faces”.
PokerStars attracted new players to take poker into the mainstream and as part of their marketing strategy, they signed soccer stars, such as Neymar Jr and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Reason to Play for Players
There is always a need for professional level players, although PokerStars’ strategy has certainly proved effective for the game in a wider sense. Because giving the players something to aspire to is such an effective way to keep players playing, it’s always important to bring fresh blood into the industry.
Since the early poker boom this is the model online poker sites have been using. However, times are changing.
“Wanting to buck this trend, partypoker has recruited Glazier and will now use her poker credential to inspire those who recently taken up poker.”
Glazier is the perfect player to promote poker in her native OZ as well as neighboring Asia, with a WSOPE bracelet and Australian heritage, and of course $1.3 million in live tournament earnings. And there is still a significant investment opportunity for operators, despite regulatory stumbling blocks hampering the progress of poker across Asia.
An Opportunity for a Female Player To Shine
Being a female player, of course, offers an added value to Glazier. The major focus of operators has also been to bring more women in the game. Glazier is now in the position to carry on the work of successful poker pros, such as Vanessa Rousso, Liv Boeree and Vanessa Selbst, who helped raising the profile of women in the game.
““Feeling so much love since joining @partypoker Thanks to every1 that sent congrats and thanks to the partypoker team for such a warm welcome,” tweeted Glazier.”
