The year 2016 has started off with a bang for some high stakes online poker players, unfortunately the same can’t be said for others. Here you will read some of the best and the worst.

The players “Educa-p0ker” and “TILTMENOT” both playing at PokerStars have already won some big bucks in 2016. They have earned $125,390 and $108,778 respectively.

On the side of the not so lucky ones, “SHARMOOTA”, is the number one in a list no player wants to top. This player has lost $118,140 since the beginning of the month. Number two on the same list is Viktor Blom, aka “Isildur1”; he is $155,592 in the hole. Blom is known for winning big as well as loosing big. Since 2007, he has been many times in the news after winning and losing millions in various sessions.

He has been on a roller coaster ride, between Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars he has lost of $2 million since he started playing.

Ivey’s Rebound in 2016

Phil Evey, was the online poker player with the biggest lost last year. In 2015 Evey probably lost over $4 million online. These results are the worse of 2015, worse than any other poker player online. For Evey not only 2015 was a bad year, in 2014 he also had a down year. Despite results of the two last years, Evey is still one of the biggest online poker winners of all times.

Along with Brian Hastings, Di “Urindanger” Dang, Daniel “Jungleman12” Cates, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond and Patrik Antonius, Evey is one of the all-time biggest winners.

Until now there are still no reports of results booked by Ivey this year, however after losing so much money in two year in a row, Evey is probably looking for a rebound in 2016, since “Polarizing” is down over $6.3 million on Full Tilt Poker. Let’s see how he will do in 2016.

Dan Cates Supremacy

Dan “Jungleman12” “w00ki3z” Cate is seen as one of the top heads-up Hold’Em specialists of all times.

At PokerStars where he is known as “w00ki3z”, he already counts a profit of $30,000 since the beginning of the year. At Full Tilt Poker, “jungleman112” has not booked any results just yet.

In 2016, his most profitable hand was on January 11Th in a $100/$200 PLO game. Cates raised “Bullitos” hand to $3,260 and started the hand with more than $28,000.

Cates went all-in on the flop and won the pot with a nut flush. He won $57,405! Until now, things are going well for Cate.

The year is only starting and there a still a lot of games to be played. Let’s see how high stakes online poker players will do in 2016.
