Cryptocurrencies have become popular last year. Bitcoin has even reached almost $20,000 in value in 2017. And why is it so popular in the first place? One of the primary reasons is its use. Not only does it allow you to transact without a third party, it can also provide transparency to its users via blockchain tech. New cryptocurrency poker site CoinPoker decided to have a partnership agreement as the official sponsor for the 2018 Asian Poker Tour.
CoinPoker and APT will enable players to buy into the cash out of Asian Poker Tour tournaments using the
cryptocurrency developed by CoinPoker which is CHP. In addition to this, the deal also includes CoinPoker having satellites to the APT events. This includes freeroll that will be held on April 15. This event will award chance to win a seat to the APT Macau Main Event.
How Many Are Up for Grabs?
There are 10 APT Macau Main Event seats as well as packages that are available in the CoinPoker satellites starting April 13. The satellites will go into the three APT Main Event Qualifier Tournaments including the one on April 15, 19, and 22. The satellite on April 15 will have free buy-in while April 19 and 22 will have 4,000 CHP and 3,000 CHP buy-ins respectively. As for the prize, only the satellite on April 19 provides APT packages while the remaining two just provide APT Main Event seat/s.
So what are the ones included in the packages? The APT packages include accommodation, travel expenses, and an APT Main Event seat.
According to Lloyd Fontillas, the APT General Manager, he mentioned that “with the sponsorship, CoinPoker will offer players around the world online satellite packages to APT Main and Super High Roller events. As well as other tournaments, giving players the opportunity to win APT tournament credits that can be used at any APT event”.
Sarah Hamid who is the Head of Content for Coin Poker is also happy with the partnership saying that “we are very excited to have CoinPoker as an official sponsor of the APT this year. We see blockchain solutions as the future for poker in Asia, and that goes beyond the use of cryptocurrency to play. APT All Over Asia
There are a total of seven stops for 2018 Asian Poker Tour. This includes APT Macau Championship that will be held on April 25 up until May 6 at the Macau Billionaire Poker Room that is located in the Babylon Casino. After Macau, APT will go to Korea, Vietnam, and then back to Korea before proceeding to the Philippines. The APT Finale will be held in Macau on November 27 to December 8.
