Only one year after linking up with Rockets Poker Room, the Indian online poker site, Adda52, has called time on its live tournament partnership.

In July 2015, Adda52 decided to enter the live tournament arena and work together with Rockets Poker Room in Bangalore. The Adda52 offered many low-stakes competitions and a prize pool of $12.500.

Adda52 linking up with the live poker room, was according to the Gutshot Magazine hugely popular partly because the 100X guarantees on a lot of its sponsored events.

The Breakdown

Even though the collaboration was successful, sources close to the situation believes that the breakdown is related to the departure of one of the operating partners of the Live Poker Room, Praveen Dwarkanath.

Rockets Online Poker has not yet made any official statement, but the media have stated that the contract renewal will probably be on hold until the live poker room resolve its management situation.

According to Anuj Gupta, Adda52’s  CEO, regardless of the collaboration with Rocket Poker Room, Adda52 will continue to explore opportunities across India and in Bangalore.

“We are exploring what is the right way to provide the best live experience to poker players in Bangalore and other cities.” Stated the CEO

Adda52 Global

Last April, Adda52 agreed to a licensing deal with WPT, this is an evidence that the company has the goal to expand its live and online operations.

The licensing deal allows the company to offer seat to World Poker Tour events worldwide.

Currently there are 800,000 players registered to Adda52.com, according to the site, this means WPT has a large new market of players.

The WPT deal hasn’t yet gained much momentum, but this deal shows Adda52 wants to invest in boosting its own profile and Indian poker players will definitely benefit from it.
