Online poker cardroom giant PokerStars is branching out to offer online casino games, on top of their dominant share of the online poker scene, controlling around two-third of the entire market. They have teamed up with NextGen Gaming, the independent game studio of NYX Gaming Group (NYX) to launch 21 new slot games, including classic titles such as Mad Mad Monkey, Doctor Love, Gorilla Go Wild and Double Play Superbet.
PokerStars Casino operations managing director, Bo Wänghammar, said: “We are very pleased to offer trusted NextGen content to our PokerStars players in New Jersey; this latest fully licensed launch supports our objective of securing a leadership position in online casinos across the globe.”
NextGen usually offers its slot games all over the world, but due to online casino opportunities in the US is rather limited, New Jersey is the company’s way of tapping into the US market.
The new slot games will be available to play on both mobile and desktop devices and are the first to be launched on PokerStars Casino NJ via NYX Gaming Group’s Open Gaming System (OGSTM).
At first glance, NextGen and PokerStars seem to occupy different sectors within the online gaming sector, but the companies goals have converged over the recent years, with the both of them looking to expand their respective operations into regulated territories and enhance their image as leaders in the digital gaming industry. This latest venture further expands on the long-standing partnership between the two companies to reach their mutual goals.
