For those in need when they ante-up in a special poker event, Vince Vaughn and Mel Gibson are ready to help the World Poker Tour (WPT) Foundation to raise some more money.

Some of the world leading celebrities will show off their poker skills inside CITIZEn Beverly Hills as the event is dubbed the “WPT Foundation ™ Presents Four Kings & An Ace Poker Tournament”.

When the cards start to fly on October 21, a handful of seasoned poker pros will offer some interesting poker action alongside Vaughn, Gibson and a host of donors.

Charity for Kids

The evening will be organised for the benefit of a charitable organization, the Mending Kids. This organisation provides life-saving surgery for children around the world.

Including for kids in the US, Bolivia, Indian Peru and Cambodia, Mending Kids, educates medical staff and helped fund surgeries in 53 other countries.

“The WPT Foundation’s latest event will see all the money raised from an evening of poker donated to the organization. In the interest of raising as much money as possible, the WPT is giving poker fans a chance to be a part of the action”.

Players can now sit down with the likes of Scotty Nguyen, Erik Seidel, Vaughn and Gibson. Note that only a limited number of players can buy entry into the tournament. The buy-in is $10,000. While reporter Lynn Gilmartin will be talking to those involved throughout the event, WPT host and commentator Mike Sexton will be the TV- host for the event.

Silence Auction

Besides the charity poker tournament, casino gaming during the event, there will also be a silent auction for the attendees.

In a silent auction participants will write their bids on a piece of paper, instead of having people bid on lots using a combination of calls and hand gestures.

Bidders only find out after the auction is closed if they offered most or not.

The WPT Foundation’s official website is now open for anyone interested in joining the tournament.

What is the WPT Foundation?

“The WPT Foundation is a non-profit organization that hosts a series of events that contribute towards its goal of “Playing for a Better World.” Prior to 2012, the WPT was heavily involved in the charity sector, but the Foundation was set up as a way to consolidate its efforts. With the new initiative in place, the WPT Foundation then partnered with Charity Buzz to offer a platform where chosen charities can offer year-round auctions that act as a complement to the organization’s live events.”
