The ninth edition of Jason Sommerville’s Run It Up Reno poker event will be heading back to the Peppermill Resort and Spa. Unsurprisingly, the forthcoming poker event that is set to run from October 11 to October 21 is shaping up to be an amazing 11-day festival. This is mostly because of the mind-blowing line-up of social events and poker tournaments.

One of the notable changes that have been included in this year’s run of the festival is the addition of a Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) “Above the Fold” Charity Event which will be made to benefit the Folded Flag Foundation.

How the Partnership Came to Be

The idea of having a Charity Series of Poker event at the ninth edition of Run It Up Reno was conceived a year ago when CSOP Founder Matt Stout traveled to Reno last year. During his visit, the founder had the opportunity to collaborate with Jason Sommerville. In addition to that, he also went on to top a filed of 687 runners to win a whopping $70,000 in the Run It Up Reno VII Main Event.

“It’s really exciting for us to finally be a part of the Run It Up series. Jason Somerville has built a great series with an incredible atmosphere that makes it a perfect partner for CSOP events. I look forward to working together on fun events for great causes,” the founder commented on the forthcoming tournament.

The Event Details

The forthcoming 25th run of the CSOP event will feature a $235 buy-in with $100 rebuys and $100 add-ons. It is scheduled to go down on the first day of RUI Reno in the Naples Ballroom at Peppermill Reno. During the event, the organizers will be offering free drinks and turkey burgers between 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT after which the tournament will kick-off.

The winner of the CSOP charity event will walk away with a whopping $5,000 in cash and top to top it all off, there will be a final table and bounty prizes as well as a silent auction in order to help raise funds for the charity.

Founded way back in 2014, the Charity Series of Poker is a non-profit company whose goal is to organize and promote charity poker tournaments and other kinds of events in order to raise money and awareness for worthy charities and causes.

Some of the beneficiaries of the CSOP’s events include the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Three Square Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, and now, the Folded Flag Foundation among others.
