This year’s Partypoker Live Caribbean Poker Party is once again heading back to the beautiful waters of Punta Cana where they held the same annual event the year before.

The 2016 Caribbean Poker Party was a week-long live event at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino which included two massive poker tournaments with more than $3 Million in guaranteed prize money. This time around, however, PartyPoker is looking to blow it up even more! 3x more in fact!

The 2017 CPP is going to be held live at The Level at Melia Caribe Tropical, an all-inclusive 5-star resort with luxurious facilities, gourmet cuisine the spectacular private Bavaro Beach. The event will kick off on the Nov 19th and runs until Nov 25th, and as we already said, this event is going to trump the last year’s one with its $10 million guaranteed prize pool!

The expanded schedule will include no less than five events, four of which will have buy-ins ranging from $1,000 to $25,000, all with $1 million guarantee, and the main event with a buy-in of $5,300 and a guarantee of $5 million.

How to Enter?

Players can buy-in to the Caribbean Poker Party events directly for $5,300. In addition, Partypoker ran satellite Power Series tournaments since June 26th to Nov 6th and all players that managed to cash had a shot at winning packages worth $10,000 that included the $5,300 buy-in, $2,000 towards flights and accommodation for two at the five-star Punta Cana resort. In the end, at least 600 players got their hands on a share of the $960,000 packages given out.

For those wishing to use funds from their Partypoker account, simply log into your online account, head to the lobby, select “Live Events”, “Punta Cana”, then “Caribbean Poker Party” to register.

Activities for Non-Poker Players

Regardless if you’re there to hit the felt yourself, or you’re simply accompanying a friend, family, or partner, you’ll will be well taken care off by Partypoker as they have lined up a whole week’s worth of fantastic activities for you, including a catamaran trip, golf days, zip lines, getting down at the CoCo Bongo Nightclub, and lots and lots of drinks at the welcome party, cocktail party, and last but not least, the farewell party at beach Quatro.

On top of all that, guests will have access to all the luxurious amenities offers by the resort, as well as plenty of water sports available at the beach, such as kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and more.

Challenging PokerStars

It’s no secret that Partypoker has been trying very hard to dethrone the industry leader, PokerStars, for quite a long time. But it wasn’t until they hired former WPT announcer Mike Sexton that they then really started to turn up the heat on PokerStars.

After Sexton took up the role as Chairman of Partypoker, he quickly got the ball rolling by signing big names such as Fedor Holz and Sam Trickett to elevate the company’s presence in the poker scene.

Everything paid off in the end as Partypoker managed to snatch the crown off of PokerStars and was named the Poker Operator of the Year, ending the former King’s three-year reign.
But the crown is heavy, and it’s going to take a lot more to keep a hold of the crown as PokerStars, as well as other major poker brands now have a new target in their crosshairs. Thankfully, this year’s Caribbean Poker Party festival should help to solidify its position as one of the biggest live tournament hosts in North America.
