Now, a lawsuit by Brill and 24 other players is about to\nfind out. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"accusations-against-mike-postle-cheating-continue\"><strong>Accusations <\/strong>Against <strong>Mike Postle Cheating Continue <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mike\nPostle<\/strong> has been a\ndivisive name in the poker community recently. On September 28, <strong>Veronica\nBrill<\/strong>, a former commentator on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinepokeramerica.com\/news\/stones-live-poker-suspended-over-cheating-allegations\/\">Stones Live Poker<\/a>, Stones Gambling Hall, accused\nPostle of playing unorthodox hands. Moreover, she accused him of cheating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Twitter\nshe called for a proper investigation into what appeared to be some pretty slim-odd\nhands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For\nstarters, Postle had played deep stacked $1-$3 game where he raised the bet to\n$5,000 \u2013 an amount that defied all logic, no matter how strong your hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make\nmatters worse, Postle was holding <strong>A-2<\/strong> against a board of <strong>Q-Q-4-5<\/strong>.\nBrill would not be throwing accusations lightly, and so many players followed\nup on her tweet, looking into footage of Postle playing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On one\noccasion, he was facing off an opponent with 8-8 against his 10-10 and a board\nof 9-9-3-10-8. When asked about that accident, Postle simply responded that\nthere was a technical malfunction, which wrongly displayed an 8-7 hand as 8-8. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That same\nexcuse was used on other occasions as well. The mistake was attributed to the RFID\nsoftware, which reads the hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">One of the most INSANE hands from Mike\/the show w\/ all their memes<br><br>The show somehow changes the graphics at the end of the hand &amp; says there was an error because Mike told them the RFID was incorrect. This is the 3RD TIME they allege this error happened always in Mike&#39;s favor. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UOnYYhB2lq\">pic.twitter.com\/UOnYYhB2lq<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Joey Ingram \ud83e\udd19\ud83c\udffb\ud83e\udd19\ud83c\udffb (@Joeingram1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Joeingram1\/status\/1179193018219282432?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 2, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet, this\nappeared an unlikely excuse, as <strong>Matt Berkey<\/strong>, a professional player,\nargued on Twitter that RFID hardly ever fails to read a hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joey\nIngram<\/strong> pitched in to\nsay that the <em>\u2018show somehow changes the graphics at the end of the hand &amp;\nsays there was an error because Mike told them the RFID was incorrect.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingram\npointed out that he had seen \u2013 and just him &#8211; three distinct occasions on which\nthe excuse had been used. In building her case publicly, Brill used the exact\nsame argument, arguing against the likelihood of this happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Mike Postle on Stones Live\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pH8Fjro2oJs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>She had something\ndifferent in mind, too. Instead of pointing out the specific hands, she talked\nabout the strategy and how it changed abruptly against weaker and stronger\nopponents \u2013 weaker and stronger hands as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-has-postle-done\">What Has Postle Done?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the\ncase against Postle reaching court, and some <strong>25 poker pros<\/strong> joining a\nlawsuit against him, the player is definitely coming under a lot of fire. What\nhas he done specifically, though? Nobody really knows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One\nsuggestion is that Postle is actually familiar with RFID technology because of\nhis time working on the <em>\u201cDream Seat Poker Show,\u201d<\/em> that used the same\ntech. He was also seen to \u2018crotch stare\u2019 as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Postle\nhimself, however, was quite vocal about his innocence. Here is what he had to\nsay in his defence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Its a shame I need to dig thru my 16 year past to prove that I\u2019ve played this style of poker the entire 16 years. Anyone who\u2019s played more than a cpl sessions with me knows it too. Along with that is nothing but people\/accounts who can verify me winning that entire time.<\/p>&mdash; Mike (@Mike_Postle) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mike_Postle\/status\/1178800906503999489?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 30, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Stones\nGambling Hall has kept the video streaming going, although the moderators\nhaven\u2019t been too fond of broaching the topic. On one occasion, shortly after\nthe scandal erupted on social media, Postle\u2019s brother participated in a game\nand he appeared to have no issue talking about the accusations. Yet, moderators\nkept everyone else silent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October\n3, Stones \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Joeingram1\/status\/1179193018219282432\">suspended all broadcast of poker\nplay, including live streaming,<\/a>\u201d as the company took to conduct a more thorough\ninvestigation into the issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"i-will-see-you-in-court\">I Will See You in Court <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And so, it\nhas come to that \u2013 Veronica Brill and 24 other players have decided to join a\nlawsuit at the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of California and\nchallenge Postle\u2019s play in court. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lawsuit\nseeks $30 million in damages from the player and the tournament director, <strong>Justin\nKuraitis<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L Even more\nseriously, the lawsuit is accusing Postle on multiple counts of negligence and\nlibel, fraud and racketeering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nplaintiffs are represented by <strong>Mac VerStanding <\/strong>who already <a href=\"https:\/\/documentcloud.adobe.com\/link\/track?uri=urn%3Aaaid%3Ascds%3AUS%3A323fafc0-e583-4c19-91be-dc7d1610c53b\">posted the document<\/a>. The document focuses on how high\nthe winning hands of Postle go, which the plaintiffs have agreed is unlikely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another area\nof emphasis are the alleged RFID malfunctions, which the plaintiffs also\nbelieve to be fabricated evidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While <em>\u2018reading\nopponents,\u2019 <\/em>has been one of the cited reasons for Postle\u2019s successful,\nVerStanding has explained that each of the plays were optimal and analysis has\nfound evidence that they were manipulated in some way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ok, I may have stumbled onto something HUGE!!!
