Not only that, but Snead is going to use the $3,500 prize package to participate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hptpoker.com\/event\/hollywood-casino-hotel-st-louis-2-500-championship\">HPT Championships in St. Louis<\/a> \u2013 a decent showing for the player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Snead is not a big name around the poker scene, but he sent ripples in his own way. Electrician by profession, he has been an avid poker aficionado for a while now. His biggest cash out, however, was $12,000 until now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Snead was ecstatic with the victory discussing his success. Day 1 and Day 2 had clearly started off on a good note for him and he managed to build momentum. Having won out of the tournament, he felt even more confident about pursuing his career in future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">SNEAD WINS HPT PITTSBURGH MAIN EVENT<br><br>Calvin Snead went through three days of poker at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MeadowsCasino?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MeadowsCasino<\/a> hardly losing any major hands at all, as he defeated a 266-entry field to become the newest <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HPTPoker?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@HPTpoker<\/a> $1,100 Main Event champion.<br><br>Snead earns $64,580 -\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hyU7322i3H\">https:\/\/t.co\/hyU7322i3H<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VII252TgBl\">pic.twitter.com\/VII252TgBl<\/a><\/p>&mdash; HPT Updates (@HPTUpdates) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HPTUpdates\/status\/1181313898672279553?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 7, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The runner-up, <strong>Greg Raymer<\/strong> is also another name from poker. In fact, Snead had previously had the pleasure to watch Raymer player on TV \u2013 and there he was at <strong>the Meadows Casino<\/strong>, besting one of the players he respected and admired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-final-action-was-worth-the-watch\">The Final Action Was Worth the Watch <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First to go was <strong>Thomas Gustovich<\/strong>, a bit of a shadow in the world of poker. He walked away with <strong>$6,618<\/strong> to his name, which was a decent amount nevertheless. Next to go were both <strong>David Santucci<\/strong> and <strong>Mike O\u2019Neill<\/strong> who both had come head-to-head against Raymer. The runner-up definitely left them no chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to go was <strong>Frank Bonacci<\/strong> who had the good fortune to make it to the third place and walk away with $25,452 from the pot \u2013 a good amount all the same. Bonacci is from Pittsburgh, PA, same as Snead &#8211; and most other competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the game coming down to the final pair, all people present were pretty sure that Raymer would seal the title effortlessly. He even had Snead on the ropes for a moment there, but an unexpected ace sent Snead to the top and practically sealed the game from that moment on. It was definitely a smooth sailing for Snead in the final minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other locals also had a crack at the pot, though they didn\u2019t come past fifth place. <strong>David Santucci<\/strong>, a local from Monroeville, PA, managed to climb to $13,999. <strong>Bill Dopico<\/strong> finished sixth claiming $11,453, and then there was <strong>Bobby Noel<\/strong> and <strong>Mike Iacovo<\/strong> who both claimed 9,545, and $8,017 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finishing the tournament, Snead was all stoked to take on Raymer in another tournament. \u2018I can\u2019t wait to play against him again,\u2019 he said.
