A week ago, the Global Poker Index merged the American and the European Poker Awards<\/a> to form the Global Awards which is set to take place on April 5 in collaboration with Poker Central and PokerStars. Previously, the Global Poker Index usually held two annual poker award ceremonies, that is, the American Poker Awards and the European Poker Awards were both held separately. Well, no more.<\/p>\n

Just a day after closing the nomination period for the inaugural awards, the GPI released the final list of nominees \u2013 these were arrived at following the tabulation of the votes of the over 130 Nomination Panel members. Now, everything is set for the event which will be held at Las Vegas-based PokerGO studios<\/a> where poker enthusiasts from over 20 different countries will be represented.<\/p>\n
