With the popularity of the game growing at a steady pace, the WPT will be dropping by the newly-minted Las Vegas Esports Arena, a multi-purposed facility designed for excellent live gigs. <\/em><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"wpt-drops-by-las-vegas\">WPT Drops by Las Vegas<\/h2>\n<p>The World Poker Tour (WPT) has chosen a high-end facility to host one of the next tournaments in the series, the Las Vegas Esports Arena. <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2018\/03\/28\/the-las-vegas-strips-first-legit-esports-arena-just-opened-for-business\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The facility was opened back in March<\/a>, designed to accommodate competitive video gaming events. But competitive video gaming has never been the only thing that was intended for the place. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Tune in to see who wins $10,000 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EsportsArena?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@EsportsArena<\/a> truck from Homestead, FL! <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NASCARHeat3?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#NASCARHeat3<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iHSYiiVlpy\">https:\/\/t.co\/iHSYiiVlpy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; World Poker Tour (@WPT) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WPT\/status\/1064189905880969217?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 18, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>And so, the WPT is bringing its bandwagon to the venue in 2019, hosting one of the events that is part of <strong>Season XVII<\/strong>, and possibly returning for more of the same later down the road, if not the very same year. <\/p>\n<p>To start off the year, the WPT will host <strong>the $10,000 buy-in pow-wow by the name of WPT Gardens Poker Championship in Hawaiian Gardens, California<\/strong> which will run two weeks after the turn of the year, from January 12 to January 16. The hosts are excited to be returning to the Gardens and this is de facto the second time around in this competitive season that the WPT has chosen the venue.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cEsports Arena Las Vegas (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ESALasVegas?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ESALasVegas<\/a>) is the modern hub for gaming, and now poker, on the Las Vegas strip,\u201d writes <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattClarkPoker?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MattClarkPoker<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/uspoker?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@USPoker<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UrAbTgcIRM\">https:\/\/t.co\/UrAbTgcIRM<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mic7gcPYvX\">pic.twitter.com\/mic7gcPYvX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; World Poker Tour (@WPT) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WPT\/status\/1011318107225448448?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 25, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Previously, the WPT held a tournament which saw Simon Lam overcome nearly 600 contestants and walk home with $565,055, <a href=\"http:\/\/pokerdb.thehendonmob.com\/player.php?a=r&amp;n=122458\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">which has been his best live cash winning so far<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>A slight reason for concern ahead of the upcoming tournament is perhaps the timing. If the WPT tournament coincides with events such as the Caribbean Adventure hosted by PokerStars or the No-Limit Hold\u2019em Championship, it\u2019s very likely that the majority of professional competitors will be in the Bahamas, participating in the games hosted by the Canadian company.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, partypoker LIVE will be hosting their own tournament pow-wows in Sochi, Russia, also putting pressure on the hosts to appeal to jet-lagged and weary players from all over the place. For the plan to succeed, the WPT will have to time their event well to make the biggest splash and attract the largest possible crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the WPT does intend to host another gig at the Borgata Hotel &amp; Casino. The event will be held from January 27 through January 31, with a $3,5000 buy-in and this is the specific one, which will be hosted within the gaming hub of the esports arena.<\/p>\n<p>Once the pow-wow is done and dusted, we will see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinepokeramerica.com\/news\/world-poker-tour-pay-its-billionth-dollar-at-16th-season-of-legends-of-poker-main-event\/\">WPT <\/a>Fallsview Poker Classic go all the way up to Canada and arrive at the namesake resort in Ontario, from February 23 through 25. It\u2019s one of the truly exciting stops for the tournament, promising to quickly turn into a great-paying event for professional players and rising talent. <\/p>\n<p>The World Poker Tour will be wrapping the season at the very beginning of June, from the 1st of the month through the 3rd. The last event will be the Baccarat Crystal WPT Tournament of Champions with a $15,000 buy-in.
