With hundreds, if not thousands, of competitors on-site, the event has proven a huge success so far.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mpn-poker-tour-and-battle-of-malta-main-poker-event\"> MPN Poker Tour and Battle of Malta Main Poker Event<\/h2>\n<p>Hosts were wowed by the turn-up. Estimated <strong>1,404 people joined in Day 1B<\/strong> and registrations were coming through until Level 10, when the organizers deemed it necessary to stop admitting more players in. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">All the Day 1&#39;s at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MPNPT?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#MPNPT<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BattleOfMalta?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BattleOfMalta<\/a> are over, and 572 players have made it into the money and into Day 2. Overall chip leader is Day 1d&#39;s Flaviano Cammisuli on 808k. Day 2 kicks off at 1pm local time &#8211; updates all day on the MPNPT blog: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fU7viYq10k\">https:\/\/t.co\/fU7viYq10k<\/a> \ud83e\udd11\ud83c\udf7b\ud83d\ude0e<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; MPN Poker Tour (@MPNPokerTour) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MPNPokerTour\/status\/1056387473352335360?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 28, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The number of registered users in the day was quite outstanding and it complemented the 451-odd people who decided to enrol in Day 1. This puts the number at <em>2100-odd players presently<\/em>. However, registrations are far from over. With more action on the horizon, Malta may see yet another record that will soar past last year\u2019s 2,070 entrants. <\/p>\n<p>The tournament progressed at a fiery pace. We saw a lot of contenders drop out, and out of the 1,404 to commit money during Day 1, only 211 players managed to progress to Day 2. The pack was led by <strong>Jalulins Nikolajs<\/strong> with his 683,000 in chip count. However, the latest updates put <a href=\"http:\/\/pokerdb.thehendonmob.com\/player.php?a=r&amp;n=188187\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Flaviano Cammisuli<\/a> ahead of the pack. Mr. Cammisuli has managed to amass the impressive 808,000 in chip count and he is well-poised to make a splash.<\/p>\n<p>With three days left in the race, everyone is excited to see who will top the field and emerge victorious. The competition\u2019s highlight event is the <strong>Battle of Malta Main<\/strong>, which comes with a solid \u20ac550 buy-in. The tournament is now halfway through, ending on <strong>October 30<\/strong>, <strong>2018<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The format is quite rewarding too. The hosts knew that people would be interested in re-joining in the event they lost, so the registrations remained opened until <strong>Level 10 of Day 1<\/strong>, offering everyone a chance to try and win back what they have just lost. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"battle-of-malta-the-other-events\">Battle of Malta \u2013 the Other Events<\/h2>\n<p>The Main Event certainly has its appeal, for sure, but the hosts haven&#8217;t overlooked the other interesting installments in the festival. In the charity sit-and-go tournament, the name of <strong>Paul Dux Holderness<\/strong> stood out from the crowd, as he managed to overwhelm the competitors and win this specific part of the festival. <\/p>\n<p>With tickets sold at \u20ac10, the overall funds raised for charity through the <strong>sale of ticket was \u20ac2,400<\/strong>. The hosts, though, decided that a more appropriate sum would be <strong>\u20ac20,000<\/strong>, so they covered the difference.  <\/p>\n<p>The money was handled in a manner that highlighted transparency with <strong>Malta\u2019s First Lady<\/strong> accepting the funds on the behalf of the charity. Malta has proven to be one of the hottest locations for the game with its pronounced international pull and good interconnectivity. <\/p>\n<p>As the event draws closer to a conclusion, it\u2019s evident that organizers will have an incentive to push it even further by providing <strong>bigger prize pools and invite more people for the 2019 event<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, we can all follow the action live by either visiting the Twitter feed or quickly dropping by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpnpokertour.com\/category\/live-updates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the MPNPT blog where all the live updates will be posted<\/a>.
