Here\u2019s how it all happened<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"pollak-and-the-e50000-single-day-high-roller\">Pollak and the \u20ac50,000 Single-Day High Roller<\/h2>\n<p>Benjamin Pollak, <a href=\"http:\/\/pokerdb.thehendonmob.com\/player.php?a=r&amp;n=96217\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an established name in poker<\/a>, entered the <strong>\u20ac50,000 Single-Day High Roller<\/strong> along with 70-odd contestants. The prize pool managed to swell up to \u20ac3,347,190 after 15 people had decided that a re-entry is due. This was good news for Pollak who couldn\u2019t know at the time that he would be benefiting the most. And yet, EPT Barcelona\u2019s event offered rewards to the nine top spots.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting shortly after his victory, Pollak said that he saw that everything developed according to plan, as his stack continued to grow bigger. And Pollak had definitely had what to be happy about, winning <strong>\u20ac979,000<\/strong>, which was incidentally his second-largest lump sum to win from a cash pool in his career.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s a win ! \ud83c\udfc6 We bagged 1M7\u20ac all together \ud83d\ude04\ud83d\udc4d\ud83c\udffc <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/EPTBarcelona?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#EPTBarcelona<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/sicklife?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#sicklife<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yPazJB28fU\">pic.twitter.com\/yPazJB28fU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Pollak Benjamin (@PollakB) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PollakB\/status\/1034577098395054080?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 28, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Pollak\u2019s good fortune just didn\u2019t seem to elude him. Prior to the EPT High-Roller victory, he went into the <strong>\u20ac100,000 Super High Roller<\/strong> and managed to fight back \u20ac445,300, finishing in fifth place. Even though he didn\u2019t manage to make it all the way to the top, Pollak apparently had other plans for staging a proper comeback of his own. And he did well in the following single-day action.<\/p>\n<p>At the end, the Frenchman was facing <strong>Jean-Noel Thorel<\/strong>, another countryman who came dangerously close to tackling Pollak and winning the big pot for himself.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-final-results-as-they-are\">The Final Results as they Are<\/h2>\n<p>Nine finalists managed to walk away with varying price, with Pollak toping the chart, of course. Thorel left with \u20ac703,000. He was followed by Alex Foxen and Ryan Riess, both from the United States who won \u20ac456,900 and \u20ac344,700 respectively. Riess life-long winnings have been stacking up nicely over the recent years, with the pro achieving an overall score of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsop.com\/players\/profile\/?playerID=159541\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$9,364,126 in the space of seven years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Further down the chart we had <strong>Mikalai Vaskaboinikau<\/strong> who brought home \u20ac267,800 and <strong>Seth Davies<\/strong> with \u20ac207,500. Jack Salter from the United Kingdom, Jan-Eric Schwippert, and Matthias Eibinger from Austria brought up the rear.<\/p>\n<p>The final table shaped up to be pretty interesting, too. Pollak wasn\u2019t immediately the primed favorite, although he certainly had the qualities to be as later events showed. With Pollak going head on against Noel, the game was finished in under an hour. A single event occasioned Noel\u2019s rapid downfall, leaving him with barely ten big blinds. A final Ace and Nine sealed the deal for Pollak who became the next EPT Barcelona champion, in one of the high roller events in the very least.<\/p>\n<p>The EPT came along with many opportunities for the high-rollers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinepokeramerica.com\/news\/michael-soyza-grabs-ept-barcelona-e10300-high-roller-event\/\">including the victory of Michael Soyza<\/a> who grabbed the \u20ac10,300 High-Roller Event and managed to distinguish himself again right after.
