The world\u2019s largest online gambling software company had an increase of nearly 18%, during the first half of 2016, compared to the same time period a year ago. \u00a0Shareholders will receive a special $168 million dividend, as rewards for this monetary influx.<\/p>\n<p>Playtech designs the software for poker sites, including William Hill, bet365, Titan Poker and Paddy Power Poker. However, the revenue increase does not have much to do with the company\u2019s online poker business. In comparison to last year, the online poker revenues were down 16%.<\/p>\n<p>During the first half of 2015, the company had made $5,6 million from poker and during the same time in 2015 the revenue were at $6,7 million.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"casino-sports-betting\">Casino &amp; Sports Betting<\/h3>\n<p>The poker and bingo businesses were disappointing, but the sports betting and casino side of the show had a great performance.<\/p>\n<p>These days, casino games such as roulette, slots and blackjack dwarf online poker revenues at the majority of gaming companies.<\/p>\n<p>In the first semester of 2016, Playtech brought in almost $200 million from casino games. If compared to the same period last year, this is a massive 19% increase.<\/p>\n<p>Sports betting also had an increase of $2 million if compared to last year\u2019s revenue.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"playtech\">Playtech<\/h3>\n<p>Differently from other online gambling companies that started in the late 1990s, Playtech is still successful. The online gambling software company was launched in 1999 and has created software for many online casinos.<\/p>\n<p>There were rumor earlier this year, that Playtech would join Amaya, but that never materialized. The company does not need Amaya, it seems. Playtech continues to grow but owning a stake of Amaya could improve its online poker business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Playtech continues to increase its business.
