Kruse directly jumped into the $10,000 buy-in 2-7 Championship after just missing out on the second WSOP final table while competing at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
Last October Kruse forgot $60,000 in cash after playing poker in Berlin at the World Series of Poker. After this unlucky event, the footballer report the incident to the German police. The money was never found.<\/p>\n
For his behavior Wolfsburg gave Kruse a fine of $20,000, after which his love of delicious chocolate spread Nutella made the BBC headlines.<\/p>\n
We didn’t see him enjoying any Nutella at the World Series of Poker where he is still playing poker. Did he kick that other habit?<\/p>\n
‘Of course not,\u201d said Kruse. \u201cWhy should I?’<\/p>\n
‘I love Nutella and I’m going to stay happy with Nutella.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Before he played the World Series of Poker he visited his son who lives in Florida, and whom he visits regularly.<\/p>\n
In 2015 Kruse already cashed $10,000 in the PLO Championship, whereas he finished thirds in a 2-7 Draw event in 2014.<\/p>\n
In the $1,500 Razz event of today Kruse ended 11th which resulted in his third WSOP cash.<\/p>\n
‘I love to play poker,’ Kruse said.<\/p>\n
‘It’s the competition against other players. It’s the same as on the soccer pitch.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Gambling and Poker; two different worlds<\/h3>\n
This time in the year his football team shouldn’t be affected by Kruse playing poker as he is on vacation.<\/p>\n
Kruse said: ‘I have a bit of time off. Last year wasn’t the best season for us all so I’m having a great time now and in four weeks it all starts and I want to be the best I can again.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Kruse think there is a big difference between casino games and poker and understand that major American professional sports restrict their players from participating in gambling activities.<\/p>\n
The soccer player mentioned the following:<\/p>\n
‘Of course poker isn’t the same as playing blackjack or roulette.’<\/p>\n
‘There’s a reason every year so many of the same players go deep and make money every year so it’s definitely not all luck.’<\/p>\n
‘In poker there’s a lot of strategy and you learn a lot about people. In games like blackjack and roulette it’s just gambling.’<\/p>\n
‘You have to prepare for a poker game just like you have to prepare for a football match.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
At this moment, Kruse is involved in playing the $10,000 2-7 Draw Championship, which is another pretty heave WSOP event.<\/p>\n
