In the early hours of Monday morning the PokerStars Sunday Million came to its conclusion and the Canadian \u201ca.urli\u201d earned the top prize of $970,000.<\/p>\n
In this edition, PokerStars Sunday Million celebrated its tenth anniversary and to celebrate they increased their guaranteed prize to $10 million.<\/p>\n
In total 45.353 entered the tournament and 9.706 exercised their re-entry options, resulting in a total of 55,059 buy-ins. The tournament collected $11,011,800 in entry fees.<\/p>\n
For their time in the tournament, 8,208 players received prizes. In the history of the tournament the 10th<\/sup> Anniversary Sunday Million was the fourth-richest online poker event, only behind the 2010 WCOOP Main Event and two previous Sunday Millions Anniversary editions.<\/p>\n Nine players competed at the final table, but after five players were out, the remaining four players made a deal. Canadian player \u201ca.urli\u201d received the largest share of the prizepool, $970,000.<\/p>\n \u201cCanario508\u201d from Argentina ended up in fourth place and took $560,000 home, \u201cprophetdream\u201d from South Korea ended up in third position with $678,518 and \u201cmladdenova 62\u201d from Bulgaria ended up in second place and earned $650,000.<\/p>\n Things took a slightly less positive turn after the Sunday Million celebration, last Monday PokerStars announced that on March 28 the site will implement rake increases.<\/p>\n Even though there have not been many reactions to the news yet, the poker community probably won\u2019t be very happy with those changes.<\/p>\n To tackle possible negative comments, PokerStars has already released a note comparing its ring game rake with the rake of its competitors.<\/p>\n According to PokerStars, even after the changes their rake will still be 19% cheaper than iPoker, 16% cheaper than 888Poker and 7% cheaper than PartyPoker.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In the early hours of Monday morning the PokerStars Sunday Million came to its conclusion and the Canadian \u201ca.urli\u201d earned the top prize of $970,000.
