Shortly after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinepokeramerica.com\/news\/pokerstars-wcoop-2020-ready-to-get-going-on-august-30\/\">World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP)<\/a> ended, PokerStars revealed a new version of its COOP initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>2020 New Jersey Championship of Online Poker<\/strong> (NJCOOP) is considered one of the most exciting events in the state and will kick off on October 10 and continue all through October 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PokerStars is presently running the PACOOP series in Pennsylvania due to end on October 5. The main event will feature a <strong>$125,000 guaranteed<\/strong> <strong>prize pool<\/strong> that is subject to change as per player participation and contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again, PokerStars wants players to have the opportunity to qualify via satellite events, including the Spin &amp; Go\u2019s events. For those who fail to make the cut, there will be Second Chance Freerolls as a last resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"details-about-the-upcoming-2020-njscoop\">Details about the Upcoming 2020 NJSCOOP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Date<\/strong>: October 10 \u2013 October 26<\/li><li><strong>Platform<\/strong>: PokerStars NJ<\/li><li><strong>Prize pool<\/strong>: $1 million GTD<\/li><li><strong>Main Event<\/strong>: $125,000 GTD<\/li><li><strong>Satellite Events<\/strong>: Daily Second Chance Freerolls, Sit &amp; Go Satellites<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The current number of tournaments as part of the event is still not clarified, but traditionally, NJCOOP features between <strong>40<\/strong> and <strong>50<\/strong> <strong>tournaments<\/strong>. The main event\u2019s prize pool has been varying as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It started out with a bang in <strong>2016<\/strong> when the Main Event was worth <strong>$200,000<\/strong>, but it has been reduced to $150,000 and then $100 in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Online poker traffic has been steady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Jersey\u2019s cash games traffic has gone up by 30% since the pandemic hit and the website has been posting at least <strong>$1 million in revenue<\/strong> since <strong>March<\/strong>. Despite the positive results so far, PokerStars has not tried to push the envelope too much with the latest installment of the NJCOOP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the reasons why is that the operator\u2019s probably wants to maintain a vibrant variety of events across the United States. Meanwhile, the buy-in for the Main Event has not been revealed yet, but most people expect it to be anything between $300 and $500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total number of events is yet to be specified as well, but as mentioned, players may expect up to 50 events this year.
