Only this time, instead of being held at <strong>the Rio All-Suite Hotel &amp; Casino in Las Vegas<\/strong>, the WSOP is taking place online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally, the event should have taken place on <strong>April 20<\/strong>, but the COVID-19 outbreak brought up too many uncertainties for the organizers to commit to any specific schedule. Commenting on the postponement back in April, WSOP Executive Director <strong>Ty Stewart <\/strong>had this to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>&#8220;We are committed to running the WSOP this year but need additional time to proceed on our traditional scale while prioritizing guest and staff well-being&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Commitment in the poker world, however, means seeing things through, and this is precisely what happened with the WSOP deciding to shift all events online. The World Series of Poker Online will host not one but 85 gold-bracelet events players can vie for between July 1 and September 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"want-to-participate-in-wsop-online-make-sure-you-are-of-the-legal-age\">Want to Participate in WSOP Online? Make Sure You Are of the Legal Age<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To sign up for the <strong>WSOP Online<\/strong>, all you need to do is reside or live temporarily in a state where WSOP.com is accessible as well as meet the legal requirement and be <strong>at least 21 years of age<\/strong>. Presently, WSOP is only available to <strong>New Jersey<\/strong> and <strong>Nevada <\/strong>players, with Pennsylvania&#8217;s regulators still in the process of approving the <strong>WSOP\/888poker<\/strong> platform in the Keystone State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A gold bracelet event will take place every day in July, with the buy-ins ranging from $400 to $3,200. All events will determine the winner on the same day and there will be various formats to pick from, including <strong>No-Limit Hold&#8217;em<\/strong> and <strong>Pot-Limit Omaha<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first event already finished yesterday with <strong>the $500 Buy-In No-Limit Hold&#8217;em Kick-off<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"divvying-up-the-rest-of-the-bracelets\">Divvying up the Rest of the Bracelets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The rest of the 54 bracelets will be up for players to win in 54 separate events hosted on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinepokeramerica.com\/news\/wsop-2020-postponed-for-the-fall-ggpoker-steps-up\/\" target=\"_blank\">the GGPoker platform<\/a>, an international card room, allowing players from all over the world to take place into the competition, and an official partner to WSOP.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bracelet events on <strong>GGPoker<\/strong> will start on <strong>July 19<\/strong> and run through <strong>September 6 <\/strong>to coincide with the end of the festival. The marquee tournament in the series is the <strong>World of Series Online Main Event<\/strong>, which will have a $5,000 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool worth <strong>$25,000,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The events hosted on the platform will offer various prize pools, including <strong>The Colossus <\/strong>event with $3,000,000 in guarantees and <strong>The Opener<\/strong> with $2,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools. Meanwhile, players will also have a chance to join the <strong>Poker Players Championship<\/strong> with $10,000,000 guaranteed if they are willing to meet the $25,000 buy-in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A debate has started as to the number of the bracelet events. Previously, there were 18 online WSOP bracelet events held in the entire history of the game. Increasing that number to a 100 in a single year may devalue the worth of the bracelets some have argued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the WSOP Online is already in progress, there are other events to look forward to as well.
