The popular poker player and streamer announced yesterday that he will be <strong>parting ways with Team PokerStars<\/strong>, but has yet to confirm what he plans to do next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You watch his announcement on Twitter: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">a new year, a new chapter&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rj5Jn70XTq\">pic.twitter.com\/rj5Jn70XTq<\/a><\/p>&mdash; jcarver (@JasonSomerville) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JasonSomerville\/status\/1212541301414973440?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 2, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In his video, Somerville noted that he had a positive experience as a member of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinepokeramerica.com\/news\/daniel-negreanu-pokerstars-part-ways-after-twelve-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Team PokerStars (opens in a new tab)\">Team PokerStars<\/a>, and thanked the brand for all of the opportunities he was given. He <strong>expressed gratitude to PokerStars, <\/strong>and acknowledged the talented streamers that the online poker site has recently started working with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI admire many of the hard-working people at the company and I have a lot of love for the many talented ambassadors that are out there creating content on Twitch, YouTube, social media, who are acting as live poker ambassadors building the game that we love. Your friendship means so much, and thank you for the opportunity. I wish you guys well in the future.\u201d<\/p><cite>Somerville said in his Twitter video, where he announced his departure.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the poker community have reached out to comment on Somerville\u2019s departure from Team PokerStars. Poker pros <strong>Jaime Staples, Jeff Gross and Randy Lew <\/strong>all wished him the best of luck on Twitter while Lex Veldhuis stated that he\u2019s happy to hear that Somerville will be returning to streaming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Somerville is one of<strong> several poker pros who have left Team PokerStars<\/strong> in the past year. Liv Boeree, Daniel Negreanu and Igor Kurganov have all parted ways with the company over the past 12 months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"somerville-and-run-it-up\">Somerville and Run It Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While Somerville didn\u2019t confirm exactly what he would be doing next, it\u2019s likely that he\u2019ll be focusing more on Run It Up \u2013 his entertainment and poker streaming brand. Run It Up has experienced tremendous success in the entertainment market, having <strong>recently teamed up with the NFL<\/strong> to host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/blog\/2017\/sep\/28\/thursday-night-football-recovery-injuries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Thursday Night Football. (opens in a new tab)\">Thursday Night Football.<\/a> Over the years, the brand has accumulated a large team of streamers and opened a <strong>Twitch channel that displays content 24 hours a day<\/strong> and 7 days a week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brand definitely has the potential to grow even more,\nand it will be interesting to see the interesting new developments for Run It Up\nis involved in once Somerville places more of his focus on it.
