The PokerStars Winter Series has just kicked off, and players in the online poker world are in for an exciting three weeks. From now until January 13th<\/sup>, there is a huge range of exciting events to take part in with buy-ins ranging from $5.50 up to $10,300. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Over the course of three weeks, PokerStars has guaranteed an impressive $50 million in guarantees<\/strong> across all of the events. Last year, the PokerStars Winter Series paid out $84 million. The main event attracted over 1,100 entrants, and a player from Ireland <\/a>named ArtHouse2011 won a prize worth nearly $360,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This year, the biggest event in the Winter Series is the $5,2000 NLHE tournament where the guarantee is $2.5 million, and qualifiers start at just $2.20.
