Jerry Wong Player Profile at WSOP November Nine

On October 31, the Rio in Las Vegas will host the WSOP November Nine final table. This time we highlight November Nine player Jerry Wong. With the exception of Fernando Pons, Wong has less chips than everyone else at the final table with 10,175,000 chips.

With 74,600,000 chips, the chip leader is Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy. To give Josephy and others at the table a sweat, he’s going to need a few double-ups. In 2009, Joe Cada won the Main Event after starting with a tiny stack.

The tournament resume of the 34-year old Wong goes beyond the 2016 Main Event.

The Brooklyn resident won more than $1.3 million in live tournaments. Jerry cashed seven times at the 2016 World Series of Poker.

It all started on the virtual felt, where Wong has won over $3 million grinding the online tables since 2008.

Chip Leader at Day Six

Wong may be a little disappointed in his current position, although he is certainly glad to be a part of the November Nine. With just over 11 million chips, the New Yorker held the chip lead at the end of Day Five. When play resumes on October 30, he will still have the same chip stack.

All nine participants in the November Nine are guaranteed $1 million, but like many others he is in the position to in the tournament and pay-out up to $8 million.

“Auctioning off .25% of @WSOP ME FT. Bidding starts now at $1700 and ends in 18 hours on 10/14. GO!,” he posted on Twitter.

Preparation is Key

In preparation for the most important final table of his life, Wong has been travelling the poker circuit.

He won $21,228 after finishing 26th in the WPT Championship Event at Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma, and this was only a few weeks after the summer WSOP session concluded.

The November Niner will also be one of the bounties in the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble in Jacksonville, Florida. Players that bust Wong receive a pay-out of $2,500!
